Book a campervan or motorhome hire from Kintripper Motorhome Hire, and hit the road!
Just because the sun isn’t always shining, and the temperature has dropped a little, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you can’t enjoy some time away – whether it be alone, or with family/friends. The world doesn’t suddenly stop from September to April. We have put together some ideas for places you can visit when you hire one of our vehicles.
Devon Campsites Open All Year
Devon has a multitude of campsites open all year round, allowing you to explore the delights that the county has to offer.
You could head to North Devon. Riverside Caravan Park at South Molton is close to both Exmoor and the North Devon coast, giving you the best of both worlds. If fishing is your thing, they have specimen lakes, stocked with Carp – ideal for those who wish to spend their time whiling away the hours with a rod in hand. Not far away, is Dunkery and Horner Wood National Nature Reserve with its nature trails and wildlife habitat.
Stowford Village is a 5-star campsite in North Devon, with very family friendly facilities. From ‘Petorama’ – where they can get up close and hug their favourite animals – to a horse riding centre, go-karting, swimming pool and crazy golf. There is a Stable Bar, a shop and the ‘Wild Pheasant’ restaurant for food, drink and entertainment. Small children will love the indoor ball pit, whilst older children might enjoy the sports field and well-equipped playground. This site is only open from 1st April until the 31st October – however, this would be ideal for the upcoming October half-term!

Cornwall Campsites Open All Year
If you are craving some quiet time, Cosawes Park, between Truro and Falmouth is an excellent base for exploring the country or the Falmouth coast and harbour. With cycle paths, public transport, and walking routes, this multi-award-winning site has plenty of facilities and is AA***** rated. From this site, you could also visit St. Michael’s Mount, St. Ives or Land’s End – the choices are endless. Cosawes has remained a site that is known for nature and has been the proud recipient of the David Bellamy Award for conservation since 2012. There are electric points, hardstanding pitches and water points, however they do focus on peace and quiet, so you will not find any clubhouse on site.
Alternatively, in the Cornish village of Gwinear, there is a family-run, pub site called Royal Standard Campsite where you can eat homemade food and drink in the onsite pub. Not far from the harbour towns of Hayle and St. Ives, or the nature reserve and beautiful long beach at Gwithian, this site is a welcoming one, with chickens and a couple of friendly dogs to remind you that you are in the great outdoors. Dogs are welcome, but must remain on leads whilst on the site. For little people, there is a play area to keep them entertained. A ‘pitch and putt’ course is only a 15 min walk away.

Travelling Further Afield – Campsite Ideas
Linwater is a farmland, family-run campsite just South of Edinburgh – only 4 miles from Edinburgh airport. AA**** rated, and award-winning, this site is close to a country park with fishing available nearby. Linwater has been open since 1998, and has received the Tripadvisor certificate of excellence for 3 years in a row. If you love to don your walking boots, this site is a perfect for those wanting to conquer Loch Lomond, with its 41 mountains, lochs and glens. You are also in reach of the Trossachs National Park. This campsite is open all year.
If you have always wanted to camp in Wales, then Celtic Camping is one to try. This site is near to the coastal path of Pembrokeshire, with stunning sea views over the Irish Sea – allowing you to access Abereiddi or the Blue Lagoon by foot within about half an hour. The smallest city in Britain (St. Davids), or Whitesands and Newgale beaches are not far by road. This is a large site, where you have the choice of which field and location to pitch up in. There are electric points in various locations, giving you plenty of choice. This site also closes on 31st October, so book your motorhome and a pitch for your Autumn getaway!
