ARE YOU MAD!!!!!!
ARE YOU MAD!!!!!!
You might think people are mad going camping at this time of year, but for wild camping you have to be crazy! Yet it is getting increasingly popular and it is happening all year round. We are seeing more and more people sharing their photos on social media of waking up to some stunning locations and really enjoying their self, so why not join them…..
There are hundreds of beautiful places around the UK to explore and Scotland seems to be the place to be, North Coast 500 and why not? With the chance to see the Aurora and really getting to enjoy mother nature, taking in some amazing views. But don’t get confused with wild camping and off the grid camping – wild camping in the highlands is with a tent, and they really don’t mind providing campers respect “the Scottish outdoor access code”. Camping in a motorhome/camper van is more off grid and if you stick to the rules they are generally OK with it.

I do like the idea of wild camping, but there is no way you will catch me walking for miles to just go to the toilet, so that no one can see me and shouting to my other half “can you see me”. I am more for off the grid camping a little bit of comfort and utility at hand. I will be more then happy with a nice mug of hot chocolate and enjoy what’s around me.
Recently one off our friends did a little tour of the highland and shared some fantastic photos with us. One of the places he stayed was Port A Bhaigh campsite, which is a cute place to stay. The views from the campsite are amazing and it also gives you the feel like you are off grid/ wild camping.
